Reviews:

Braindead Webzine - Undinism is without doubt one of the finest and fiercest grindcore bands ever to hail from Australia. They're vile and relentlessly violent. More characteristics are insane, hysterical vocals shrieked and screamed at the top of the lungs, killer grinding riffs (with a thrashing edge at times), crushing, heavy bass and one hell of a tight drumming: blistering speed and blasting fury all the way... The intensity here is quite reminiscent of early Napalm Death, slightly more chaotic and occasionally noisecore-oriented perhaps. This cd is an outstanding collection of Split 7" ep's, unreleased stuff and demos... The first 21 tracks come with a really sweet heavy sound production, the rest is cruder and rawer but the band is always tight as fuck. There's the live stuff fromthe split tape w/ Squash Bowels and this stuff is really amazing, vocals are so fucking harsh and insane it has to be heard to be believed... You can take a look at the outrageous song titles, and notice how the band is infamous for a reason. This cd is 70 tracks and nearly one hour of pure, maddening, hateful grindcore... A must-hear really!

The Crypt of Dr Gore (English Translation) - When one looks in a CD jacket, I think that many among you looks at the small pocket, the label, the number of titles and there one guesses direct the style. A singer with a face full of blood on the front and the back a deformed baby on whom one adds the long list of titles. 70 titles, good it agrees grind, that it is certain! UNDINISM comes us from Australia and is found signed at PROLAPSE RECORDS. This CD compiles all the productions of the group since the beginning, here something which will be useful to them as a good means of promotion since the rate of popularity of the group is not very large. One will thus find: - Split 7' W GONKULATOR - Frigid Test 7' (unreleased) - Split 7' W DAHMER - Split Types W SQUASH BOWELS - "Dead Girls Don' T Say No" Demonstration - Demonstration #1 They have can have left not badly tricks but one does not find once badly the same titles. Not insane either hein! Although the recording sounds noisy and draft very, their music seems full with energy. Blasting and noisy Grindcore  in all directions. Difficult to distinguish all the instruments, it all the same will faloir to make an effort there above! It would be necessary to see what that gives with an album worthy of this name

Deadwebzine - This cd has all undinism tracks by now 69tracks. So you can figure out - its discography. First 21 tracks are good studio material (split w/ gonkulator & 7" frigit test) - brutal noisy grind/ crust/. Excellent, especially for old school lovers. unfortunatelly other tracks was recorded live or in someones dirty basements with poor sound quality. May be if undinism move up from shitty basement into good studio it'll be great, but yet this cd for die hard grind fans, ever 80% songs are rare (like frigid test 7") & infamous (like "dead girls don't say no") - a half of cd sounds shitty. Good band, so give this band some money for a good studio (abbey road, for example) for re-record all tracks. br:9 sound quality: 5) band: prolapserecords.com

Grindcommando (English Translation) - Undinism in without a doubt one of good referring of scene grindcore Australian, this is clear to first 10 seconds to listen "Born with an Erection", his discografía, with his sound dense and powerful, that secret pus, lees and more corpóreos, excellent fluids riffs, an evident hatred by everything harmonía existing in this planet are shaped in the 70 subjects and almost one hour of grindcore which they compose this disc, which divides in 6 "parts" the first two subjects of split next to Gonkulator and 7' ' titleholder "Frigid Test" (Unreleased) is subjects recorded in study. Soon subjects come from split with Dahmer, that gives the impression me that they are of a rehearsal, soon 25 live subjects with very good sound, extracted of split next to Squash Bowels, the only thing if it is that the subjects do not follow the course of live here continuous, even though little note, but it is a detail, and finally, two we give to titleholders "Dead Girls dont' say not" and "Demo#1", the sound of this first is demolishing. As to finish this we can say that Undinism is excellent referring of the Australian scene underground, that very gives to an excellent quota of grindcore to the old school of Fear of God or Napalm Death and that at moments happen to chaotic noisecore while we approached more we give them.

Impaired - This band sadly does not exist anymore; some of the old members are now acting under the name of KUTABARE, like steve the fundater of both UNDINISM and KUTABARE. This band from Australia make an enormous noise when they put out their first demos and 7'ep in the middle of the 90's. Raw, fuckingly insane and completely into the gore porno grind pure rough vein, they have marked a lot of grind freaks like me at that time and to be honest they were by some considered as the south equatorial answer of the european cult GUT's style. For those of you who want to stop the reading of the review now, well, sad for them, but listenign to tracks like "Born of the Bomb" and to be straigh and direct to all the songs of the ultra rare and searched "Frigid Test" EP, and you ll change your mind and opinion. The arms of UNDINISM apart from what I said before are the excellent spirit and capacities to develop offensive and incisive grinf core riffs that are going to scotch your mind to the bottom of the brain, the very fast and basic drum parts with this so exceptional clear drum sound, and particulary in the global sonorities, this very rough and weird growling voice of Mister Neil. Prolapse made here a really hard to accomplish task because having all the DAT or tapes from this band could be the impossible mission for any fan on earth. I have not all the releases by my own and just ask steve for example he will confirm you that at that time i already was crazy of what they made. 70 songs for the raw grind pornogore fans and just remind the stuff were composed between 1992 and 1996 maximum, and that the band made split with the greatest like Dahmer, Squash Bowels and so on...

Metalshtorm - The first 2 recordings sound excellent in terms of recording and production - you get blasting no-frills grind alternating with mid-paced catchy hooks, somewhere between early NAPALM DEATH and BRUTAL TRUTH, and bound to appeal to fans of VAGINAL CARNAGE, FILTH, and very early BLOOD DUSTER. Sometimes it comes across as very primitive and straight-forward stuff, but the songwriting is really good and they break it up a lot like some PHOBIA material, throwing in slower almost doom riffs on some tracks. Of course there's a lot of tracks under 10 seconds too, as you'd expect from a band glorifying the early grind sound. The vocals are tortured hate-filled screaming the whole way, and will not disappoint. There's un-PC samples scattered throughout which are good for a laugh, and in keeping with the song titles. A personal favourite being "Fart Filled Asthma Pump." This CD comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for anyone with even a passing interest in grind.
There is a fucking shitload of material on this discography, definately good value clocking in at just under one hour. The recording and production is awesome on the first 21 tracks, taken from the split 7" with GONKULATOR and the unreleased 'Frigid Test' UNDINISM 7". It makes me think a bit of VAGINAL CARNAGE's 'Dildo Detention', but I think that's a combination of the recording/production and the strong and individual character of the band. On tracks 22 to 28 from the split 7" with DAHMER the recording is not so flash, it sounds prettty raw and harsh, but with UNDINISM's style of grind it works OK. Just turn it up when the CD gets to those tracks and it's not an issue. Tracks 29 - 54 which are from split tape with SQUASH BOWELS are 24 live tracks with an hilarious intro from Cosmic Commander. The recording is pretty good for live material, and does a great job of capturing the band's energy. Tracks 55 - 59 consist of the 'Dead Girls Don't Say No' Demo, and while the recording is a little murky it's thankfully quite heavy, and everything is audible so it's not a problem, pretty good blasting grind. Demo #1 (tracks 60 - 70) sounds fucking great for an early demo, and the material is awesome, consistent with the rest of the CD.

Pull The Chain - Ouch!!! Standard porn grindcore with a weak production work. Although having said that, the first twenty tracks (taken from two seven inches) may worth your attention and the money you can spent to buy this album (that appears to be a kind of musical testament for the aficionado of this insane act). With song titles as «Shit Porno Whore», «Pimping Paraplegic Prostitutes» or «My Tongue is your Tampon», you directly guess those demented musicians play brutal (but yet incredibly very structured) grind music. The vocals (with continuous shrieks)are ultra conventional and reinforce the extreme nature of the whole concept. The strongest aspect of their music is the drumming. Unfortunately after the first twenty tracks, the very poor production work undermines most of the impact. Apart from that, it is good and it shall without any doubt, delight the grindcore lunatics

Pyro Music - Bad, blurry cover art? 69 (crudely titled) tracks? Opening with an audio sample? Check, check, check. Yep, Grindcore. Undinism's 'Born With An Erection' is a comprehensive compilation featuring tracks from various Splits (with Gonkulator, Dahmer, Squash Bowels) live tracks and a few demos. As one would expect, the audio quality of tracks fluctuates dramatically but the music is what it's about and for a fan of the relentless brutality and groove of Undinism, 'Born With An Erection' is a value-packed, and convenient release. I'm a part-time Grindcore fan at best, with many more misses gracing my picky ears than hits but I do own and enjoy a reasonable collection of such releases. This collection of Undinism songs walks the fence with me. There are some enjoyable moments but they're pretty infrequent, many of the tracks coming across as less than fantastic but like I've mentioned, I'm note a full fledged member of this niché, preferring a little more clean-cut grin, however. readers out there who live and breathe the genre will get a lot out of this compilation, which is all the more valuable for a true Undinism collector and marks their first CD release meaning those without an LP or Cassette player can finally check them out.

Traumatized - Just managed to locate this item under a bunch of CD's where its been for quite a while so I think its over-due for review... The first part is the split 7" with Gonkulator which has the 'best' overall sound and is pretty much just standard groovy grind. It's put together nicely but unfortunately it's nothing particulary new or exciting and doesn't really do anything for me. My favourite section on this discography release is the split with Dahmer, 7 tracks of raging grindcore sounding like Agathocles and Scum Bitch fighting over crack. The live material for the Squash Bowels split is fun for a while, but quickly becomes quite painful to listen to due to the horrid sound. The last two parts on the CD are raw-as-fuck sounding demos, again I'll say they're entertaining but the novely wears off fairly quickly. Thats the only problem about a discography - or maybe thats just my attention span. A lot of the appeal to this type of grindcore is that it finishes as quickly as it begun but this release does seem to drag. Personally I'd reccomend getting the split with Dahmer if you're after their best work.
