Imm3moria - You see, dear reader, the extreme we love is split in two parts. On the one hand, we have the bands that practice Metal in a speed, brutal and violent way. This form favours the effectiveness, and offers (in general) compositions made for the stage. This category represents the bigger part of the Extreme Music, but today it’s time to look on the other side of the mirror… indeed, there is a slim fringe of madmen that wanted to push away the limits of the horrors we love… And this face of extreme seems to be the Credo of the guys from Prolapse records, who already made his firsts teeth with no more no less than DECOMPOSING SERENITY… And now it’s time to re-enjoy the view of blood flowing from your ears….

(I have to prevent my readers that now, they have to be open minded) In fact, what is music? It’s only noise!! Anyway, that’s the idea of the guys from the Japanese Band called GORE BEYOND NECROPSY: music is only noise.

Imagine the simplest compositions ever, flirting with a very noisy and deranged grindcore. (they don’t hesitate to throw a punk rock riff in the middle of the track) Big spinning riffs, a punky drumming, “overshouted” vocals, exploding cymbals, noisy blastbeats and crusty moshparts, all is here to make cum a grindhead in lack of disorder…. Here we have really good grind noise. BUT: Don’t imagine that we are near bands like NAPALM DEATH, PIG DESTROYER or other masters of grindcore… here we have something 1000 times dirtier…

In fact, it’s recorded live. So don’t mind that it sounds like Madonna, it’s a total chaos in direct live from the hearth of a typhoon. All the instruments are really sizzling, full of saturation; the drumming seems to be a mix of banging doors, the 6 strings sounds like a chainsaw against your cranial box… however, this piece isn’t really hard to listen, even the sound is catastrophic… in the hands of GORE BEYOND NECROPSY, it becomes really listenable. Of course, the first listening is really rude, but after we can guess each instrument behind the wall of saturation….

And behind we can find a really good grindcore that tastes Harsh Noise… If you want an influences, perhaps the CADAVER CRUSH MACHINE project (in a noisier vein) of something like SNUFF FETISH, in a less gore way.

After this festival of out-of-tune chainsaws, here we have the German project called NUNWHORE COMMANDO 666, nothing comparable to GBN, this tree guys are doing Electrogrind, very influenced by THE BERZERKER… of course, Drum Programming is part of this project… (NWK666 is the side project of the guys from GUT, LIBIDO AIRBAG and NYCTOPHOBIC… what else?) firstly very close to the two Australians, the music of NWK666 decelerates at the end of the split to become mid temp Goregrind, with some technobeats behind the pitched vocals…

Of course, the ones that cannot bear Techno/Electro/Cybergrind will not be able to breathe the air around the Cd, but don’t believe it’s in the same vein as the horrible project of the guy from LDOH (S.M.E.S…)

The main problem of the this side of the split, is once more the production… it’s really too weak…If you wanna hear something you have to push the buttons away, but the sound himself is not really unpleasant, dry and synthetic, that saturates a little bit…To sum up: a split for the really open minded guys…. Really hard to reach, this piece reveals an amazing combination, but everybody will not be seduced by such brutal things! don’t care! However they can listen to the cover of Tom Jones: “She’s a Lady” by NUNWHORE COMMANDO 666… really funny!

Vomit the Soul - This What a good idea to put these 2 bands on the same release!! So, the first part of this Split CD is GORE BEYOND NECROPSY, coming with 16 tracks recorded live in 2003. This is the first time I listen live performances from this band, and it sounds incredible!! This band was already hard to describe with studio releases, on stage, this is the Apocalypse!!! So during these 16 tracks you'll listen to the typical Noise Grind with Punk riffs, Noise grunts, Harsh influences and larsen destruction!! Nothing more to say, this band is unique and you should listen to it at least one time in your life to get your ears bleeding!! Second part is NUNWHORE COMMANDO 666, formed by members of GUT, NYCTOPHOBIC and LIBIDO AIRBAG. So, be ready for 9 tracks of Electro Grind. This is also rather hard to describe the music of this band as it sounds almost unique! Globally, I'd say this band could please you if you like GUT and LIBIDO AIRBAG, and other bands like CBT, MORTUARY HACKNIG SESSION or S.M.E.S. At last, even if i'm not so much into NUNWHORE COMMANDO 666 than into GORE BEYOND NECROPSY, I have to say that this Split CD is a excellent one and you msut get it right now if you'rere looking for some original and blasting Grind bands!! BUY OR DIE!!
